Yusuf Garba Unveils Community Needs Register Ahead of 2027 Election

The Labour Party candidate for the Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, Yusuf Garba, has unveiled a digital campaign platform featuring a Community Needs Register to document challenges and development priorities across the constituency ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.

The platform, accessible through www.yusufgarba.com, provides residents with an opportunity to identify and report challenges in their communities by indicating their local government area, ward and polling unit, while also providing descriptions and supporting evidence where available.

Garba said the initiative was designed to give his campaign an evidence-based understanding of the needs of constituents and ensure that proposed policies and interventions are shaped by issues identified directly by residents.

He explained that the Community Needs Register would help bridge the gap between political campaigns and the everyday realities of communities by creating a structured channel through which residents can communicate their concerns and priorities.

The website also outlines Garba’s Six-Point Agenda and Riverlight Vision, which set out his broader development plans for Yola North, Yola South and Girei.

According to him, the vision seeks to harness the economic and human potential of the constituency in areas such as agriculture, trade, infrastructure, technology, energy and human capital development, while connecting local opportunities to wider economic networks.
Beyond documenting community challenges, the platform allows residents, students, professionals and members of the diaspora to submit policy ideas, recommendations and practical solutions that could contribute to the development of the constituency.

The website also provides opportunities for volunteers to register and contribute their expertise in areas including media, research, technology, policy development and community mobilisation.

Support groups can equally register their membership through the platform as part of the campaign’s effort to build a broader network of participation.

Garba said accountability, inclusiveness and public participation would remain central to his campaign, describing the digital initiative as an effort to promote a more accessible, responsive and people-centred approach to political representation.

He urged residents across Yola North, Yola South and Girei to use the platform to document challenges in their communities, share ideas and propose practical solutions ahead of the 2027 election.
