
Chief Maurice Vunoboloki has joined teachers and communities across Adamawa State and Nigeria in celebrating World Teachers’ Day 2026, recognising the vital role educators play in shaping minds, building character and preparing generations for the future.
The 2026 theme, “Standing with Teachers: 60 Years of Protecting the Profession, Advancing Its Status and Shaping Our Futures,” highlights the need to move beyond appreciation and address the realities confronting the teaching profession.
As a teacher himself, Chief Vunoboloki recognises the dedication, patience and sacrifice required in the profession. He noted that teaching is not merely a career, but a responsibility to society and an investment in humanity.
He emphasises that teachers deserve respect, professional dignity, fair working conditions and the support necessary to perform their responsibilities effectively.
He also stresses the need to confront challenges such as excessive workloads, inadequate resources, and poor working environment which continue to undermine the teaching profession.
According to Chief Vunoboloki, building a prosperous and peaceful society requires standing with those who shape the minds that will build its future.
On World Teachers’ Day, he extends his appreciation to teachers across Adamawa State and Nigeria, recognising their contribution to shaping the future and reaffirming that their work, sacrifices and profession deserve to be valued.
