Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the appointment of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, as Adamawa State’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri said the appointment underscores his administration’s commitment to strengthening regional security efforts and ensuring Adamawa State is adequately represented in key security decisions.
The Governor noted that the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund, established by the Northern Governors’ Forum, was created to complement the efforts of security agencies through intelligence sharing, operational support, inter-state collaboration, and community-based security initiatives across the 19 northern states.
Fintiri expressed concern over the growing security challenges in the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria, including banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and communal conflicts. He said the establishment of the Trust Fund reflects the determination of northern governors to tackle the challenges and restore peace in the region.
The Governor described Boss Mustapha as a seasoned public servant whose experience, leadership qualities, and national standing make him well-suited for the role.
He congratulated the former SGF on the appointment, expressing confidence that he would contribute significantly to advancing the objectives of the Trust Fund while ensuring Adamawa State’s interests are effectively represented.
Governor Fintiri also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with federal and regional stakeholders to enhance security and safeguard the lives and property of citizens.
