ADAMAWA GUBER RACE: “If I Do Not Have the Pedigree for Leadership, I Won’t Contest” — Maurice Tells Ex-Permanent Secretaries.

A governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dr. Maurice Vunobolki, has declared that he would not have joined the Adamawa governorship race if he lacked the requisite leadership pedigree.
Chief Maurice made this known during a consultative meeting with former Permanent Secretaries in Adamawa State, where he formally informed them of his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election.
Addressing the gathering, the aspirant emphasized the need to sustain and build upon the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, noting that continuity requires capable and experienced leadership.
He described himself as a servant-leader committed to advancing the progress already recorded in the state.
“I am going to rely heavily on your wealth of experience and guidance, regardless of political affiliations,” he stated.
Chief Maurice highlighted his track record, particularly his role in the MCRP, where he said his collaboration with top civil servants, including permanent secretaries, contributed significantly to the programme’s success and earned recognition for Adamawa State.
He appealed to the forum for support, prayers, and professional advice, stressing the importance of their input at what he described as a critical moment in his political journey.
“I have come to seek your support, counsel, and prayers as I embark on this important mission,” he added.
The aspirant also unveiled his nine-point agenda, which he said was designed to be inclusive and people-oriented. According to him, the policy document was developed in collaboration with experts, including some members of the forum.
In their responses, several former Permanent Secretaries commended the aspirant’s initiative and pledged their support. The forum, which comprises over 190 members, assured him of continued guidance and advisory support to strengthen his campaign.
