The Labour Party candidate for the Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Vrati Sawulama Nzonzo, has officially commenced his campaign activities with the inauguration of his campaign council and ward-level structures across the constituency.
The inauguration, held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, featured the appointment of Hon. Gana Richard as Director-General of the campaign council. Gana Richard is a former leader and former National Secretary of the Councillors Forum of Nigeria and a former adviser to the Adamawa State Government.
The inauguration of ward campaign councils subsequently commenced in Demsa Local Government Area, with the event held at Mararaban Dakanta.

Addressing members of the campaign council, Hon. Vrati urged them to regard their appointments as a call to service and a responsibility to work towards victory for the Labour Party at the polls.
He charged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, engage directly with constituents and communicate his campaign message of service, development and good governance across the constituency.
“The task ahead is clear. We must take this message of service, development, and good governance to every ward, every unit, and every home. I charge you to work with diligence, commitment, and integrity,” Hon. Vrati said.
The newly inaugurated ward campaign councils are expected to coordinate campaign activities, mobilise voters and strengthen communication between the candidate and communities across Numan, Demsa and Lamurde Local Government Areas.

The campaign council said the flag-off marks the beginning of full-scale campaign activities as the Labour Party candidate and his team seek to consolidate support across the three local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.
