Ibrahim Gafai, the lead consultant, has announced plans to take legal action in response to a defamatory publication that falsely alleges mismanagement and financial impropriety within the Adamawa Agribusiness Support Program (ADAS-P).
The baseless report, published by an unnamed online news platform on Sunday, February 16, 2025, is filled with unverified claims. It misrepresents the facts and appears to be a deliberate attempt to harm the reputation of a reputable initiative and its leadership.
In a statement, Gafai emphasized that, contrary to the allegations, ADAS-P is dedicated to transparency, accountability, and sustainable economic growth. He noted that claims of mass staff resignations due to unpaid entitlements and poor working conditions are entirely false and lack any supporting evidence, especially regarding the program’s financial stability.
Gafai pointed out that such reckless reporting is damaging and legally actionable.
In light of this defamatory publication, Gafai has instructed his legal team to initiate immediate legal proceedings. He demands that the author of the report retract the false allegations and issue a public apology within 24 hours. Failure to comply will result in full legal action, including claims for damages due to defamation.
Gafai stated that while ADAS-P remains focused on its mission to attract investors and drive economic development, it will not hesitate to take legal measures against individuals or entities that spread false and harmful information.
