ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION: Adamawa Govt. Fumigates Residential Areas to Nib Cholera.

The Adamawa state government has staged the fumigation of residential areas and culverts, among others, in the state capital in its quest to nib the outbreak and spread of cholera in the bud.

This forms part of the monthly sanitation exercise reintroduced by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration.

The commissioner for education and human capital development, Dr Umar Garba Pella, who led other government officials and the task force on monitoring, supervision and enforcement of the monthly sanitation exercise, regretted the recent outbreak of cholera in the state, which claimed lives.

He said most of the outbreaks of diseases are the end product of a dirty environment and emphasised the importance of keeping a clean and hygienic environment for a healthy society.

The commissioner revealed that the September sanitation exercise is dedicated by the state government to combat the cholera outbreak in the state, hence the fumigation.

Dr.Pella warned that the government would decisively deal with anyone bent on frustrating its effort towards restoring the sanity and dignity of the state.

He commended the level of compliance, calling on people to get more involved in the sanitation exercise for a cleaner Adamawa.

The mob courts are also not relenting on their task of prosecuting violators, hence the need for residents to always comply with govern orders, order where is for the good of the state and its people.
