Catholic Diocese of Yola Presents 93 Wheelchairs to People With Disabilities 

In a heartwarming display of compassion and charity, members of the Knights of Columbus, a renowned Catholic fraternal organization based in the United States, have donated 93 wheelchairs to individuals living with disabilities in Adamawa State, Nigeria.
The generous gesture was coordinated by the Catholic Diocese of Yola, under the stewardship of Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza.
The initiative is part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities in need around the world.
Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza expressed profound gratitude for the donation, highlighting the significance of the gesture for the disabled individuals in the region.
“This donation will go a long way in improving the lives of those living with disabilities, allowing them greater mobility and independence,” Bishop Mamza said. “The Catholic Diocese of Yola is deeply thankful to the Knights of Columbus for their continued support and solidarity with our people.”
According to Bishop Mamza, the wheelchairs, which were carefully selected to cater to the specific needs of the recipients, were distributed to individuals from various communities across Adamawa State.
The Catholic Diocese of Yola, through the Justice Development and Peace Commission, in collaboration with local leaders and volunteers, ensured a smooth distribution process, with the recipients expressing deep gratitude for the thoughtful intervention.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Rufkatu Livinus, and John Anthony noted that the gift of a wheelchair would significantly enhance their ability to navigate daily life and participate more fully in their communities.
They commended Bishop Mamza and the entire Catholic Church for their tireless efforts in meeting the needs of People Living with disabilities in Adamawa state.
