WOMEN PARTICIPATION: Adamawa Deputy Gov Host Women Groups, tasks them on Transparency.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has charged the state chapter of the Nigeria Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen with upholding an open-door policy and promoting inclusive governance at the local level.

She delivered this message during a courtesy visit by the vice chairmen from the 21 local government areas.

She reminded them of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s commitment to creating opportunities for more women in policy and decision-making processes. She also encouraged the vice chairmen to use their positions to influence development at the grassroots level.

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta emphasized the government’s interest in harnessing the potential of women, demonstrated by the appointment of women to leadership positions. She urged the vice chairmen to serve the people effectively and to support the chairmen in running the affairs of the local governments.

The state chairperson of the vice chairmen association, Sarah Samuel, led the delegation and highlighted the significance of women being appointed as vice chairmen under the current administration. She pledged the association’s support for the people-centric ideals of Governor Fintiri.

Additionally, Professor Farauta pledged support for the State Chapter of the Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT) during a meeting with the group in her office.

The deputy governor assured them of the government’s continued support for women and recognized the objectives of the society in advocating for female members and promoting efficiency and professional conduct in taxation.

Furthermore, the Society of Women in Taxation appealed for cooperation and collaboration to achieve their objectives and decorate the deputy governor as their state matron. Professor Kaletapwa Farauta also reaffirmed her commitment to supporting women in the Colleges of Education Yola chapter during a meeting with them.

Amina Mohammed Kabir, the chairperson, informed the deputy governor about an upcoming national conference scheduled to take place in Adamawa and sought support for the event.
