The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Chief Maurice Vunobolki, has responded to comments by the Labour Party candidate, Senator Ishaku Abbo, rejecting the claim that he ever worked under Abbo’s supervision.
Vunobolki described the claim, contained in a widely circulated video, as false and disrespectful, insisting that Abbo neither had the educational, technical nor professional expertise to supervise him.
The PDP candidate accused Abbo of resorting to what he described as “cheap blackmail” as political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election intensify.
Vunobolki also recalled his role in supporting the late Dr. Bala Takaya during his governorship contests in 1992 and 1999. He said he served Takaya because of his principles and philosophy, adding that his relationship with the late politician predated Abbo’s political career.
He further challenged Abbo to demonstrate the viability of his political agenda, alleging that a previous assessment of a policy document attributed to the LP candidate recorded a 93.7 per cent plagiarism score and indicated heavy reliance on artificial intelligence.
Vunobolki’s statement adds to the growing political exchanges among governorship contenders in Adamawa as parties position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
