Plan International, in partnership with Hope And Rural Aid Foundation (HARAF), has created a platform to empower adolescents aged 10 to 14 and 15 to 19 with life skills for behavioural change and development.
The program aims to help adolescents effectively deal with the challenges of everyday life.
HARAF’s Fifth Session focused on peer relationships, exposing participants to both positive and negative aspects of friendships and teaching them how to resist negative peer pressure in their communities.
In the Sixth Session, participants were trained on their relationship with adults and how it affects their decision-making. They were empowered to practice respectful communication with adults and resolve disagreements, especially with parents.
Participants have praised the program, stating that it has positively impacted their lives. The program has already reached 300 adolescents in Adamawa and Borno State and consists of 13 practical skill-building sessions.

The program emphasizes the importance of life skills in preparing adolescents to become responsible, healthy, and productive members of society.
It focuses on crucial skills such as emotional regulation, relationships, basic cooking, organization, active listening, and goal setting.
This program marks a new beginning for adolescents striving to reclaim their right to education and a better life through informed decision-making.
