The Gongola People’s Forum has enthusiastically recognized Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his initiative in establishing additional Chiefdoms and Emirates, following the passage and enactment of the Adamawa State Chiefs Appointment and Deposition Law 2024.
In their message of congratulations to the Governor and the residents of the newly created Chiefdoms and Emirates, the forum expressed their strong commitment to support and collaborate with the Governor in this endeavour.
In a statement issued by the forum’s General Secretary, Chief Barr. LD Nzadon, the Gongola People’s Forum highlighted this development as a significant step towards good governance and responsive leadership, demonstrating a commitment to uplifting marginalized communities.
They emphasized that Fintiri’s actions have firmly established his positive legacy in the state.

CREATION OF NEW CHIEFDOMS, EMIRATES IN ADAMAWA STATE.
Today, Monday the 23rd day of December 2024, history was made when the people’s Governor, Rt.Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri created the following Chiefdoms and Emirates:
1. Hoba Chiefdom with headquarters in Hong – 2nd-Class Status;
2. Madagali Chiefdom with headquarters in Gulak – 2nd-Class Status;
3. Michika Chiefdom with headquarters in Michika – 2nd-Class Status;
4. Fufore Emirate with headquarters in Fufore – 2nd-Class Status;
5. Gombi Chiefdom with headquarters in Gombi – 3rd-Class Status;
6. Maiha Emirate with headquarters in Maiha – 3rd-Class Status; and
7. Yungur Chiefdom with headquarters in Dumne – 3rd-Class Status
Your Excellency sir, your swift action on the recent legislation passed by the State House of Assembly, the Chiefs Appointment and Deposition Law 2024 which has culmunated in the creation of these new chiefdoms and emirates,, is to us in GPF, a momentous milestone in the lives of our people in these areas who have by dint of indirect rule been forced for over a century to live under an alien administration and culture. Today however, the Rubicon was crossed through the courage of the Governor and painstaking legal and legislative process of the House of Assembly. A great window of reality for self- determination and autonomy which we in GPF have for decades advocated for, has been achieved.
This no doubt is a clear and unequivocal demonstration of good governance and true service to the oppressed. Indeed Your Excellency has written your name in gold and entered the State’s record as a fearless leader, a legend and an emancipator of the indigenous peoples of Gongola region who have been under political eclipse for decades.
We congratulate Your Excellency, our Son, and ourselves for giving you our mandate. We believed in you and you have not failed us. We want to take the opportunity of this great success for the State to assure you of our unflinching support in the remaining years of your positively eventful tenure. To us, you are not only a State asset but a National one. GPF will stand by you in all you enduring policies and programmes. We must be quick to add too that because Your Excellency has proved himself worthy in the State, in the future, at whatever level you may wish to step out in your aspirations for our people, we assure you that our prayers and support shall be with you.
Your Excellency has demonstrated that politics in Nigeria can be a tool for good governance, progress and emancipation. Only a bankrupt leadership gives politics a bad name. Your people-oriented policies and projects are an incontrovertible proof that there are still exceptional leaders in Nigeria today and Your Excellency is foremost among them.
Your Excellency, we in the GPF thank you for making history today and giving our people a breath of Fresh Air.
