The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Rev. Stephen Dami Mamza, has praised former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Gida Mustapha, for supporting education through the construction of a library complex for the proposed Lutheran University Nigeria.
Bishop Mamza spoke during a thanksgiving service at Saint Monica Cathedral of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN, Yola, where he joined church leaders, family members and guests in celebrating the achievement.
He described the library, which Boss Mustapha built in memory of his late father, as more than a building, saying it represents a lasting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to education.
According to him, the facility will provide students and researchers with a place to learn, discover new ideas and develop the values needed to contribute positively to society.
Bishop Mamza also congratulated Boss Mustapha on attaining the age of 70, praying for long life, good health and many more years of meaningful service.
He extended the goodwill of the Catholic Diocese of Yola to the leadership and members of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria and prayed that the proposed university would become an important centre of learning and service to the church, Nigeria and humanity.
