The governorship ambition of Felix Tangwami gained momentum on Monday following a series of strategic engagements with political appointees and key stakeholder groups in Yola, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
The meetings are part of Tangwami’s ongoing consultations aimed at strengthening support across both political structures and grassroots networks in Adamawa State.
Among those engaged were the Forum of Chairmen of Boards, Commissions and Agencies; the Forum of Special Advisers to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri; as well as the Forums of Principal and Senior Special Assistants.
He also met with widows and their representatives from Numan, Demsa, and Lamurde Local Government Areas, party executives and supporters from Modire Ward in Girei LGA, Fulani community leaders and Ardos led by Sarki Alhaji Yakubu Musa, alongside youth and support groups including the Pene Da Bwatiye Youth Wing, Yola Branch, and loyalists of Chief Fwa.

Addressing the groups in separate sessions, Tangwami expressed appreciation for their presence despite the short notice, noting that the meetings were convened to formally declare his intention to contest the governorship under the APC platform and to seek their backing.
He commended the administration of Governor Fintiri for what he described as notable achievements across various sectors, adding that his ambition is focused on consolidating and advancing the progress already made.
Drawing on over three decades of public service experience, Tangwami said he possesses the competence required to lead the state effectively.
“I am confident that I have what it takes to move Adamawa State forward and build on the gains recorded so far,” he said.

Describing himself as a grassroots politician, he pledged to address the challenges facing the people through policies rooted in fairness, justice, and inclusivity, without bias along ethnic, religious, or political lines.
He further assured political appointees and stakeholders of a collaborative approach to governance, promising that their contributions would be recognized and valued.
Responding on behalf of the groups, Barrister Musa Kaibo said the engagement had renewed optimism, offering prayers for the success of Tangwami’s ambition. Similarly, Engr. Alvari Gunduri described the aspirant as a credible leader with a strong track record, pledging support on behalf of the Forum of Special Advisers.
Other representatives, including Barrister Leader Leneke and Mr. Bristone Limuga Daniel, also assured Tangwami of their support, aligning their commitment with the continuity of progress in the state.

Speakers across the various groups described Tangwami as a dependable and grassroots-oriented leader with integrity and a clear sense of purpose.
The engagements concluded with group photographs, symbolizing a key milestone in Tangwami’s consultation drive ahead of the APC primaries.
