The upcoming election for the Pene Da Bwatiye Youth Wing, scheduled for April 22, 2025, has sparked significant concerns and controversy. A group known as the Numan Concern Youths is calling for the cancellation of the election, citing alleged irregularities and the politicization of the process.
In a heartfelt communiqué released after an emergency meeting at the home of Ali Kano, the Youth Leader of the Bachama Kingdom, the group expressed their deep frustrations. They believe that the voices of the Numan youth have not been included in the decision-making process, leading to feelings of disrespect and neglect among their leaders.
Emmanuel Christopher, the spokesperson for the group, articulated their demands, which centre on the need to cancel the election until all proper procedures are followed. They are reaching out to the broader Pene Da Bwatiye organization worldwide, requesting immediate intervention to foster peace and understanding.

Emmanuel explained that the exclusion of Numan metropolitan youths from the electoral process has left many perplexed and saddened.
He emphasized the importance of transparency and inclusivity in electoral processes, as these factors are crucial for building trust and unity within youth organizations.
“We want the world to hear our concerns. We cannot support the election scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Numan. Our leaders, particularly the Sarkin Samara of the Bachama Kingdom, were not consulted about appointing any delegates from the Numan Metropolitan Council, which has left us disheartened,” he stated.
He highlighted that the Numan Concern Youths comprise dedicated individuals who genuinely care for their community and work tirelessly for its peace and progress.
They are also appealing to security forces to refrain from participating in the election, fearing that the legitimacy of future leadership may be compromised if the election proceeds without the inclusion of all voices.

“You can see the integrity of the youths who have signed this petition. They are known for their commitment to our people, making it feel unjust to exclude them from a process in which they wish to participate,” he noted.
Emmanuel poignantly added, “How can we hold a meeting in someone’s home and then ask them to leave? If the Electoral Committee claims that the Numan metropolitan youths did not register to participate in the election, we are left questioning how one of them is a contestant.”
The Youth Wing of the Pene Da Bwatiye socio-cultural association has faced challenges with its electoral processes for years, and this year is no different. Petitions from concerned individuals and groups like the Numan Concern Youths reveal a strong desire for a fair and inclusive election process that truly represents all voices in the community.
