Pene Da Bwatiye to Host International Cultural Festival.

The Pene Da Bwatiye Association held a joint meeting in Yola to discuss the highly anticipated International Bwatiye Cultural Festival Day.
This significant event is being organized by the National Executive Body of the Pene Da Bwatiye Development Association Worldwide, in collaboration with the dedicated committee responsible for festival preparations.
The main goal of the meeting was to review the progress of festival preparations, with particular attention to the budget, guest invitations, logistics, venue arrangements, accommodations, media coverage, and other essential elements that will ensure the festival’s success.
In his welcoming remarks, Chief James Iliya, President of the Pene Da Bwatiye Development Association Worldwide, commended the organizing committee for their patriotism and commitment. He acknowledged their hard work in planning an exceptional celebration for the inaugural International Bwatiye Cultural Festival Day, under the capable leadership of Professor A.A. Voh, a highly respected elder from Njiya-Bwara.
Chief Iliya encouraged all Bwatiye sons and daughters to actively participate in and support this important occasion, which aims to showcase, promote, and elevate the culture, values, and identity of the Bwatiye Nation across Nigeria, Cameroon, and Chad.
The president also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the contributions made by individuals within the Bwatiye community, particularly recognizing the pivotal role of Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta in this effort.
In his update on preparations, Professor A.A. Voh, Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee, reported that progress is being made smoothly, with outreach efforts expanding to Bwatiye communities in Cameroon, Chad, and the diaspora. His thorough report received enthusiastic applause from attendees.
After thoughtful discussion, the meeting unanimously decided to shift the festival’s date from April 12th to April 13th, 2025, allowing for additional time to enhance the planning process. The festival is now proposed for May 15th and 16th, pending approval of the date for the Annual Vunon Wrestling and Cultural Festival.
It is important to note that the Bwatiye Cultural Festival has not been organized in over two decades, making this event a landmark occasion for the community.
