The Adamawa State City Boys Movement has commenced the training of youths on electronic membership registration as part of efforts to expand its grassroots structure across the state.
The exercise, which was officially launched at Fombina Hotel, Yola, is expected to cover all 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.
The City Boys Movement, established by former member of the House of Representatives, Barrister Aliyu Wakili Boya, is affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is focused on youth mobilisation and grassroots political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Barrister Wakili Boya said the initiative was aimed at informing, engaging and empowering young people while building a stronger grassroots network.
Represented by the State Coordinator of the movement, Danasabe Suleiman, Boya urged the trainees to master the e-registration process and replicate the training in their respective local government areas and wards.
He said the movement had set a target of registering about 2.2 million youths across the state, stressing that the target could only be achieved through effective grassroots mobilisation.
Boya also encouraged the trainees to take the registration campaign to their communities and encourage young people to become actively involved in the democratic and electoral process.
He said the movement would also mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
According to him, beyond membership registration, the initiative is designed to promote unity, brotherhood and constructive political participation among youths across Adamawa State.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Adamawa State Government on Youth, Safrat Dungus, commended the organisers for investing in youth mobilisation and capacity building.
Dungus urged the trainees to return to their respective local government areas and use the knowledge gained to register and engage more youths.
She emphasised the need for young people to take advantage of opportunities to participate in the political process, describing youth engagement as critical to the future of democracy.
Responding on behalf of the trainees, one of the participants thanked the leadership of the movement for the training and pledged to take the e-registration campaign to their communities.
He also encouraged other young people across the state to join the registration exercise and participate actively in the movement’s grassroots activities.
The organisers say the exercise is expected to strengthen the movement’s membership base and enhance its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
