
The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Zone 3, has honoured the retiring Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, in recognition of his exemplary leadership, commitment to community policing, and outstanding contributions to security across the North-East.
The honour was bestowed during a farewell visit led by the Chairman of PCRC Zone 3 and District Head of Duguba, Chief Simon Buba, who praised the retiring police chief for his professionalism, accessibility, and people-centred approach to policing.
Chief Buba said AIG Adeniran’s open-door policy throughout his tenure strengthened collaboration between the police and the communities they serve, leading to improved security and public confidence in the zone.
He described the AIG’s retirement in good health after years of dedicated service as a blessing, noting that his achievements would remain a reference point for effective policing.
“It is a great honour for anyone to serve the country diligently, retire in good health, and return home to enjoy the fruits of years of dedicated service,” Chief Buba said.
He explained that the committee considered it important to pay a farewell visit to appreciate the retiring officer’s commitment to duty, cordial relationship with stakeholders, and unwavering support for community policing.
The PCRC chairman prayed for God’s continued protection and guidance for the retired AIG, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience would continue to benefit the Nigeria Police Force and the nation whenever called upon.
Responding, AIG Akinwale Kunle Adeniran described the honour as memorable and thanked God for granting him the grace to conclude his career successfully and in good health.

He attributed the successes recorded during his tenure to the cooperation and support of police officers, members of the PCRC, traditional rulers, and residents across the zone.
The retiring police chief reaffirmed that community policing remains one of the most effective approaches to combating crime, stressing that lasting security can only be achieved through sustained partnership between security agencies and the public.
According to him, the collaboration between the police and communities has significantly improved safety in Adamawa State, enabling residents to live with greater confidence and peace of mind.
AIG Adeniran also expressed appreciation to the PCRC for the recognition and the strong working relationship enjoyed throughout his years of service, describing their support as instrumental to the successes achieved under his leadership.
Members of the delegation also paid glowing tributes to the retiring officer, offering prayers for good health, peace, and a fulfilling retirement after decades of dedicated service to the nation.
The farewell visit highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and community stakeholders in promoting peace, security, and public trust, while celebrating the enduring legacy of a senior police officer whose leadership has made a lasting impact on policing in the North-East.
