GUYUK CHAIRMAN-ELECT THANKS VOTERS, PLEDGES MORE DEVELOPMENT

The Chairman-elect of Guyuk Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Abafras, has expressed profound appreciation to the people of the council area for re-electing him to serve another three-year term in office.

In a statement issued shortly after he was declared winner of the recently concluded local government elections by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Abafras described his victory as a reflection of the confidence and trust the people have in his leadership.

He commended the residents of Guyuk for their resilience, sacrifice and commitment throughout the electoral process, noting that many voters endured the harsh weather and set aside their daily activities, including farming, to participate in the election and ensure the success of democracy.

According to the chairman-elect, the overwhelming support he received from the electorate is a testament to the achievements recorded during his first tenure in office. He assured the people that their renewed mandate would inspire him to work harder in delivering more dividends of democracy across the local government.

Abafras also unveiled plans to strengthen the economic base of the council by diversifying its internally generated revenue sources. He explained that the initiative would reduce dependence on federal allocations and create employment opportunities for the growing population of the area.

The chairman-elect further lauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing purposeful leadership and driving developmental projects across Adamawa State.

He pledged to consolidate on the gains of his previous administration and remain committed to improving the security, welfare and overall well-being of the people of Guyuk throughout his second term in office.
