
A prominent Adamawa elder statesman and financial expert, Chief Maurice Vunobolki, PhD, FCA, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, urging leaders across the country to recommit themselves to the ideals of good governance, peace, and national development.
In a goodwill message to mark the June 12 celebration, Chief Vunobolki described Democracy Day as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey and a reminder of the sacrifices made by the nation’s democratic heroes in the struggle for freedom and justice.
He noted that the annual observance provides an opportunity for citizens and leaders alike to reflect on the progress made in strengthening democratic institutions and sustaining the values of accountability, equity, and the rule of law.
The elder statesman called on leaders at all levels of government to demonstrate greater commitment to securing lives and property, promoting lasting peace, fostering national unity, and implementing policies that encourage inclusive growth and development.
Chief Vunobolki emphasized that meaningful and sustainable progress can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect, and purposeful leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people.
He expressed optimism that the celebration would rekindle hope among Nigerians and inspire renewed dedication to building a peaceful, united, and prosperous nation.
