Hon. Vrati Nzonzo has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Demsa, Numan and Lamurde Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Nzonzo made the declaration on Monday in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, while addressing party faithful, community leaders and youth groups at a well-attended gathering.
He said his decision followed extensive consultations and sustained calls from constituents seeking stronger representation and accelerated development across the constituency.
According to him, the people of Demsa, Numan and Lamurde deserve a more effective voice at the National Assembly. He outlined his key priorities to include security, youth employment, agricultural development, as well as improved education and healthcare services.
“I am not coming to make empty promises; I am coming to build on what we have already started together at the grassroots,” he said.
The aspirant, who previously served as Executive Director, Planning and Design at the Chad Basin Development Authority, Maiduguri, highlighted his track record in community development, particularly his support for women and youth cooperatives.
Party stakeholders at the event, including the APC North-East Youth Leader, as well as youth and women leaders, welcomed his declaration and pledged to mobilize support ahead of the party primaries.
Nzonzo also called for peaceful and issue-based politics, urging fellow aspirants to focus on ideas that would move the constituency forward.
He added that his campaign would soon commence with a ward-to-ward tour aimed at engaging voters directly and documenting the needs of various communities.
