CAN Directs Churches in Adamawa to Ensure Members Obtain PVCs

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State Chapter, has directed all church leaders across the state to ensure that eligible members obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ahead of forthcoming electoral activities.

In an official press release signed by the State Chairman, Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, the association mandated bloc leaders, bishops, denominational heads, pastors, and leaders of Christian organisations to mobilise their members to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) where necessary.

The statement emphasised that members who do not currently possess a valid PVC should take immediate steps to register with the appropriate authorities in accordance with the law.

CAN further advised eligible members to freely and voluntarily register with political parties of their choice without coercion, restriction, or preference for any specific political platform.

The association encouraged Christians across the state to actively and lawfully participate in the democratic process by meeting all statutory requirements to vote and, where qualified, to contest elective positions.

Reiterating its stance, the Adamawa CAN leadership affirmed its commitment to fairness, credibility, and righteousness in electoral and civic processes, describing the Church as a moral force for justice, accountability, and the promotion of democratic values in society.

All concerned parties, the statement added, are expected to comply accordingly.
