April 20, 2027, may well stand out as a defining moment in Adamawa’s political landscape, as Chief Maurice Vunobolki returned to Yola to a series of coordinated solidarity visits from key grassroots groups and stakeholders in their numbers.
Upon his arrival at the airport, he proceeded directly to his campaign office, where members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and affiliated associations had gathered to welcome him.
In their remarks, the union leaders urged Vunobolki to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and contest the governorship election, describing him as the most capable among the emerging contenders.
Responding, Vunobolki reaffirmed his commitment to democratic values, noting that the people of Adamawa remain resolute in their demand for credible, grassroots-driven leadership. He called for patience, assuring supporters that a clear political direction would be announced in the coming days—one anchored on equity, justice, and fairness. He donated the sum of 2 Million Naira to the union.

From the campaign office, he moved to his residence, where the Association of Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD), drawn from all 21 local government areas of the state, had assembled to welcome him.
The group cited his longstanding support to them over the past two years, particularly in empowerment initiatives and agricultural interventions, which includes skill acquisition, seed capital, and provision of tractors to boost farming activities among over 2,000 of its members.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the Assistant Secretary Comrade John Anthony highlighted Vunobolki’s contributions to improving their livelihoods. Other stakeholders, including Women Leader Godiya Simon and Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Toungo, echoed similar sentiments, pledging unwavering support for his governorship ambition
They also urged him to return to the PDP, presenting him with a symbolic T-shirt bearing the inscription “Kafarka Kafarmu”—a Hausa phrase meaning “Wherever you go, we will follow.”
In his remarks, Vunobolki expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and acknowledged several grassroots initiatives established in his name by the association, including the Vunobolki Care Initiative. He confirmed that he had taken note of their appeals and promised to communicate his next political steps soon, signaling the imminent commencement of formal campaign activities.

He concluded by reiterating his vision of an inclusive government grounded in equity, justice, and fairness. As part of his immediate outreach, he announced the donation of 5 Million Naira and 100 bags of 100KG assorted grains, which will be given at the flag-off of his Food Distribution Program across all 21 local government areas of the state.
The day’s events underscore growing grassroots momentum around Vunobolki, as political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections continue to take shape.
