WOMEN EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE: Sarah Nyampa Hosts Workshop on Personal Hygiene, Distributes Financial Support and Resources to Constituents

Sarah Zakaria Dauda Nyampa, the spouse of the Member of the House of Representatives for the Michika-Madagali Federal Constituency, recently conducted a two-day workshop aimed at over 1,000 women and female students from 26 wards within the Michika and Madagali federal constituencies.
The primary objective of the training was to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge regarding personal hygiene, empowerment, and sex education, thereby fostering a prosperous future for the girl child. This initiative represents a groundbreaking effort in the history of the two local government areas, which have been significantly impacted by insurgency, often resulting in the girl child shouldering considerable challenges.
The program engaged twenty female students from each ward across the constituency, participating in the workshop titled “My Body, My Right.”
Sarah Dauda Nyampa articulated that empowering young women with essential knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes will facilitate informed decision-making concerning their health and well-being while promoting respect and dignity within the community.
Participants benefitted from a lecture delivered by Dr. Yakubu Koji, who emphasized the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, promoting healthy lifestyles, and encouraging the girl child to pursue entrepreneurship as a means of achieving self-reliance.
The chairpersons of both local governments, Honourable Danbiyu Paul Tumba from Michika and Simon Musa Shashi from Madagali characterized the program organized by Sarah Zakaria Dauda Nyampa as timely and relevant. They encouraged the attendees to apply the knowledge acquired to mitigate the risks associated with unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.
After the workshop, participants received packages that included 1,000 sanitary pads, exercise books, toothpaste, toothbrushes, skin creams, and a total of 4 million naira designated for distribution among women.
Several beneficiaries of the initiative expressed their profound gratitude to the wife of the federal lawmaker for her generosity and urged her to continue her support in the future.
