END BAD GOVERNANCE: Arrest of 97 Suspects and Recovery of Looted Items During Borno Hunger Protest

The Borno State Police Command has apprehended 97 suspected individuals in connection with the nationwide hunger protest, referred to as “End Bad Governance.” The arrests include seven individuals for the display of foreign flags, seven social media influencers for inciting violence, and 83 individuals for offences such as vandalizing private and public properties, theft, looting, and engaging in mischief.
In the course of these arrests, the Police Command has also seized illegal drugs, air conditioners, fertilizers, flags, office furniture, and various other exhibits.
Addressing the media at the Crack Police Office in Maiduguri, the Police Public Relations Officer, Nahum Kenneth Daso, emphasized that these suspects took advantage of the hunger protests to commit unlawful acts. He noted that upon completion of the investigations, the suspects will be prosecuted by the law.
