Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Adamawa state command, have arrested a 22-year-old man, Idris Abubakar, of Gaya ward in Mubi South local government area Adamawa State on allegation of committing homosexuality with teenagers.
A statement signed and made available to newsmen on Friday in Yola by the Police Relations Officer, Adamawa state command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the arrest and said the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.
SP Ngoruje added, “that the suspect would be prosecuted upon completion of the investigation, while the victims would continue taking medication.”
According to the statement, “The victims, ages 12 and 10 years, said the suspect who teaches them Islamic lessons, engaged them in menial domestic work and then instructed them to massage his body before committing the act of homosexuality. He cautioned them not to reveal to anyone, but failure to adhere will attract severe beating and other consequences.”
It added that the accused has admitted to the crime of engaging the pupils in menial domestic work, but denied committing homosexuality with them.
