The Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) Adamawa State Project Coordination Unit, under the leadership of Chief Maurice Vunobolki PhD FCA, in collaboration with The Adamawa State Government, has begun the distribution of Life Support Items to communities identified as potential flood hotbeds due to release of water from Lagdo Dam.
So far, communities visited are Imburu, Gamadiyo, Lure, Bemun, Kiri, Alkalawa Bakin Kogi, Labondo, Rugange, & Njoboliyo in Girei, Lamurde, Numan, Shelleng, Yola North, & Yola South LGAs respectively.
Some critical emergency Life Support Items being distributed include Life Jackets, Lifebuoys, Rain Coats, Rain Boots, Reflective Jackets, Goggles, Face Masks, Whistles, Torch Lights, & Hand Gloves.
This exercise aims to ensure members of these communities are adequately equipped to ensure safety in the event of flooding and to reduce human casualty to its bare minimum as community sensitization efforts are underway.
