The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Dami Mamza, has attended the Thanksgiving Mass marking the 40th Priestly Anniversary of Very Rev. Fr. Sylvanus Tagisa, O.S.A.

The Thanksgiving Mass, held in celebration of four decades of dedicated service to God and humanity in the Lord’s vineyard, took place at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Bekaji, Jimeta.

In his remarks, Bishop Mamza congratulated Fr. Tagisa for his steadfast commitment, selflessness and faithful service to the Church, describing 40 years in the priesthood as a rare grace and a journey of sacrifice, perseverance and unwavering faith.

Bishop Mamza noted that Rev. Fr. Tagisa has rendered his service to the Church in different capacities across the country, and appreciated God for the gift of his life and priesthood.

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese prayed for continued strength, good health and more fruitful years for the celebrant.

In his response, the jubilarian, Very Rev. Fr. Sylvanus Tagisa, O.S.A, expressed profound gratitude to God for sustaining him through 40 years of priestly ministry.

He also thanked Bishop Mamza, fellow priests, religious, and the lay faithful for their support, prayers and encouragement over the years.

The celebration attracted priests, religious, family members and parishioners who joined in thanking God for the life and ministry of the jubilarian.

Highlight of the event was a reception in honour of Rev. Fr. Tagisa and the presentation of a car gift by parishioners of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Bekaji.
