Former APC aspirant for the Numan, Demsa and Lamurde Federal Constituency, Usoko Ken Supule, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting farmers across the constituency, saying his decision to provide agricultural inputs was driven by service rather than politics.
Supule made the declaration while addressing beneficiaries of his farmer empowerment initiative in the constituency, where he distributed bags of fertilizer to support farming activities during the current agricultural season.

The former aspirant said although he had sought the APC ticket to represent the constituency in the National Assembly, the party eventually selected another candidate, a decision he said he accepted in the spirit of party loyalty and democratic participation.
He, however, stressed that losing the party ticket had not diminished his commitment to the people, particularly farmers who depend on agriculture for their livelihoods.
“Leadership is not about a ticket. Leadership is about service. And service does not wait for an election,” Supule said.
He explained that the empowerment programme was a fulfilment of a promise he made to farmers during his campaign, stressing that the support was intended to ease some of the challenges confronting farming families.

According to him, many farmers struggle to access essential inputs, particularly fertilizer, despite investing their labour and resources in agriculture.
Supule said the initiative was personally sponsored by him and should not be regarded as a government intervention or a political campaign.
“These bags of fertilizer are not government handouts. They are not politics. They are a commitment. This is my way of saying: I see your sweat, I honour your labour, and I believe in the future of our land,” he said.
He commended farmers, including women and young people, for their contribution to food production and the local economy, urging beneficiaries to make productive use of the inputs.
The former aspirant said his vision for Numan, Demsa and Lamurde was to build a constituency where farmers could access the support required to increase production and improve their livelihoods.
He called for a stronger agricultural system in which farming would become a sustainable and profitable business rather than a struggle for survival.
Supule also expressed optimism that the support would contribute to improved food production and greater prosperity for farming households.
He further extended the initiative beyond partisan politics, assuring residents that his commitment was not limited to those who supported his political ambition.
“Whether you supported me or not, whether you are APC, PDP, or none, you are my people. And I will never stop standing with you,” he said.
The initiative comes at a critical period of the farming season, with farmers across Adamawa State relying on timely access to agricultural inputs to improve yields and strengthen household food security.
Supule urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizer judiciously and remain committed to farming, describing agriculture as a major pathway to economic growth and prosperity in the Numan, Demsa and Lamurde axis.

Also speaking, the 2027 APC flag bearer for Numan State Constituency, Hon. Barrister Timothy Leonard Nzadon, commended Supule for what he described as a selfless intervention aimed at strengthening agriculture and supporting ordinary citizens.
Nzadon said the gesture demonstrated that meaningful leadership should not begin and end with elections, noting that leaders and aspirants could contribute to the development of their communities through practical interventions.
He called on the beneficiaries to make effective use of the farm inputs, assuring that sustainable agricultural development would remain critical to improving food security, creating opportunities for young people and strengthening the economic wellbeing of communities across Numan, Demsa and Lamurde
Stakeholders at the event commended Usoko Ken Supule for keeping his promise to farmers despite not securing the party’s ticket, describing the initiative as a demonstration of commitment to community development beyond electoral politics.

They said the gesture would provide timely relief to farming families and encourage greater participation in agriculture, particularly among young people and women.
The stakeholders urged other political leaders, community leaders and well-meaning individuals to emulate the initiative by investing directly in programmes that improve the livelihoods of the people.
