Aminu Iya Abbas, the Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, has donated cash and relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of recent floods in Fufore, Song, Gombi, and Hong. He also provided food and non-food items, along with cash assistance, to those affected by a windstorm in Kwanan Waya, Yola South Local Government Area.
While presenting the relief materials in the affected areas, the senator expressed his concern for the communities struggling with the impact of natural disasters in his constituency.
Senator Abbas was represented by members of the AIA 2023 senatorial campaign steering committee, Alhaji Adamu Baba Mustafa and Dr Adamu Babikkoi. They conveyed their sympathy to the victims and reaffirmed their commitment to providing essential support to their constituents.
Community leaders from the affected areas expressed their gratitude for Senator Abbas’ timely intervention, praising him as a representative who prioritises the interests of his people above personal interests. They noted that this gesture reinforces his reputation as a responsive leader dedicated to supporting the communities of Adamawa Central during challenging times, aiming to alleviate their suffering.
It should be noted that Senator Aminu Iya Abbas has previously donated relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of floods and insurgency in Hong, Yola South, and other affected areas, showcasing his ongoing commitment to his constituents.
The donations included over 1,200 bags of rice and maize, mats, blankets, and approximately 10 million naira to be shared among the five affected local government areas in the constituency.
