A cohort of 117 media practitioners recently participated in a training program designed to enhance public awareness of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRESS) in Adamawa State.
This training initiative was organised by L-PRESS in partnership with Dunable Dynamic Concept and was conducted on Monday in Yola. Participants included information officers and social media personnel from all 21 Local Government Areas within Adamawa.
Alhaji Tijjani Marksha, the State Commissioner for Livestock and Aquaculture Development, stated that the training concentrated on project documentation and the production of documentaries. Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Suleiman Amin, he affirmed that the L-PRESS initiative has had a positive impact on the livelihoods of numerous pastoralists in the region.

Marksha characterised the timing of the training as crucial, asserting that “information serves as the foundation for any form of development.” He urged participants to implement the knowledge acquired during the training to fulfil their objectives effectively.
Mr. Alfa Secondee, the L-PRESS Coordinator, articulated that the primary aim of the training was to enhance public awareness and foster support for the developmental goals of the L-PRESS project. Secondee noted that this event was the tenth in a series of capacity-building endeavours for stakeholders in the state, scheduled for 2025.
He underscored that the target beneficiaries of the project are pastoralists residing in remote villages, many of whom remain unaware of its affirmative impacts in the state capital. He encouraged the participants to act as ambassadors for the project, disseminating credible information to the public to promote understanding and effective service.
Mr. Iliya James, the State Commissioner for Information, commended L-PRESS for its efforts in training information managers responsible for generating awareness within their respective communities.

Ms. Jessica Bakari, one of the participants, expressed appreciation for the capacity-building training and affirmed her commitment to applying the knowledge gained in her professional endeavours. She indicated that the training had significantly enhanced her understanding of L-PRESS activities and the methods for effectively communicating these to the public.
