Israeli forces are currently conducting the demolition of buildings in Gaza to establish a “buffer zone” for a military corridor, as per reports from war monitors.
Palestinian fighters have engaged Israeli forces with mortar shells, and Israeli media has indicated that the buffer zone along the corridor is intended to be 4km (2.5 miles) wide.
Additionally, Palestinian Islamic Jihad has reportedly activated a minefield targeting Israeli forces in southern Khan Younis, while ongoing hostilities persist in the city of Rafah.
Palestinian fighters have utilized sniper rifles and rocket-propelled grenades against Israeli troops.
Furthermore, according to US-based defence think tanks, three rockets were launched from Gaza in separate attacks targeting areas in Israel.
