As Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno,Member Representing Demsa Constituency and Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly marks six years in office, she has reflected on her eventful and numerous achievements in Demsa Constituency, Adamawa State. During her tenure, she has sponsored and seen the assent of several key bills, including the Adamawa State Health Insurance Scheme, Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law (VAPP), Child’s Protection Right Law, and a bill for free maternity and medication for pregnant women and children.
As an experienced legislator,her achievements are outstanding.
She has moved several motions, including those on fire disasters in Demsa and Dilli wards, flood disasters in Nasarawo Demsa, Borrong Mbula Wards, and the need for electrification of Dong, Kpasham, and Bille wards.
The lawmaker has prioritized education and overseen the construction of several blocks of classrooms in various primary schools across Demsa Constituency, including Kulasala, Kwafara, Zuran II, BiIlachi, Farabaraune, and Kodomun. Additionally, she has provided educational materials such as chalks, exercise books, and blackboards to select primary schools.
As majority leader,she has lobbied for several key infrastructure projects, including the electrification of Dong, Kpasham, and Bille wards, construction of a 6.8km road network from old Demsa, and construction of a 60-bed cottage hospital facility in Demsa.
The lawmaker has facilitated the drilling of boreholes in Faraliyon and Gorogbakai Çommunities as well as rehabilitation of boreholes in various wards, including Zuran II, Demsa, Gada Nomye, Bolong Community, Dong, Bille, and Mbula.
Hon.Kate has provided relief materials, including drugs, maize, and cash, to flood and fire victims in Borrong, Dilli, and New Demsa Wards. She has also provided 2,300 safety delivery kits to all clinics in Demsa local government.
During the period under review, the lawmaker has implemented several initiatives to empower youths and women, including the purchase of sewing machines, motorcycles, and fabrics.She has also secured admission for 50 students from Demsa Constituency at College of Legal Studies Yola (Numan campus) and provided cash support to students at various institutions.
The member has also undertaken several other initiatives, including the renovation of the INEC office in Demsa local government, repairs of Nasarawo Demsa road, and rehabilitation of the road at Demsa main market.
As Hon. Mamuno celebrates six years in office, she remains committed to serving the people of Demsa Constituency and working towards their development and prosperity.
