The Adamawa State Health Management Contributory Agency (ASCHMA) is making significant strides to enhance healthcare services by announcing a 60% increase in its monthly capitation tariff for various healthcare providers in the state. Additionally, the Fee for Service for Third Party Agencies will be adjusted by 75%.
Dr. Ujulu Amos, the Executive Secretary of ASCHMA, shared these updates during a collaborative meeting with healthcare providers and Third Party Administrators at ADSACA Hall in the Specialist Hospital Jimeta-Yola.
He emphasized that this review is an important step in response to the current inflationary pressures and feedback from partners, who expressed challenges with the previous contractual terms.
To foster stronger partnerships, Dr. Amos also mentioned that ASCHMA will be entering into new contractual agreements with partners for one year, a shift from the previous two-year arrangement.
He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his proactive support in promptly releasing the agency’s counter funds for the year 2025, which will further bolster healthcare initiatives.
With these changes, Dr. Amos is optimistic about the potential for enhanced service delivery from healthcare providers, thanks to the newly established agreements designed to promote quality care.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, the board chairman of ASCHMA, represented by Aliyu Musa AbdulHakeem, the state coordinator of the National Health Insurance Agency, encouraged partners to take this opportunity to improve their service quality and client satisfaction.
Dr. Amdzaranda Aidain Pugu, the Executive Chairman of the Hospital Board Management Agency, praised ASCHMA for its commitment to advancing healthcare through innovative strategies and partnerships.
The meeting also featured encouraging messages from Dr Boniface Gundiri of the Adamawa State Agency for the Control of AIDS (ADSACA) and Dr Anas Ibrahim Usman from the National Health Insurance Agency (NHIA).
The primary goal of the gathering was to inform stakeholders about the tariff review outcomes and share insights from the Client Satisfaction Survey.
Attendees engaged in constructive discussions surrounding key insights, emerging trends, and areas for future improvement identified in the survey.
The meeting culminated in the signing of a Service Level Agreement among ASCHMA, healthcare providers, and Third Party Administrators, paving the way for stronger collaboration and improved healthcare delivery.
