Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is pleased with the peaceful manner the youths across the twenty council areas have conducted themselves during the End Bad Governance nationwide Protest.
The protest, which kick-started nationwide on August 1, as proposed by the organisers of the protest, would end on August 10.
For the second day, the hunger protest remains peaceful in Yola, the state capital of Adamawa.
Protesters are still enjoying the company of security personnel deployed to ensure the protest is carried out within the ambit of the law.
Adamawa state government representatives visit all the protest scenes in solidarity with protesters.
Leaders of the protesters appealed to the federal government to bring back fuel subsidy and address the current hunger.
They appreciate Governor Umaru Fintiri for the laudable programmes in the state while promising to ensure none of their members destroy government or private properties.
Addressing the protesters, Governor Fintiri, through his SSG, commended the youths and other civil society organisations in the state for maintaining decorum during the protest.
He acknowledged the hardships people in the country are passing through due to hunger and poverty and assured them that his administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of the masses.
The first day of the protest witnessed a parallel demonstration with the Pro-Tinubu and End Bad Governance Groups taking over the major streets of Yola in the company of security operatives.
The protest, which is on day 2, is expected to last for 10 days.
