The Catholic Diocese of Yola has announced the election of the Catholic Bishop of Yola, Stephen Dami Mamza, as Chairman for Ecumenism at the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
In his new national role, Bishop Mamza will serve as the official representative of Catholic Bishops to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
He will also spearhead efforts to strengthen ecumenical ties and deepen collaboration with the Anglican Communion, Methodist Church Nigeria, and other Christian bodies across the country.
The appointment is widely seen as recognition of Bishop Mamza’s longstanding commitment to Christian unity, interdenominational dialogue, and peaceful coexistence among faith communities in Nigeria.
The Diocese congratulated the Bishop on his election and prayed for divine guidance and wisdom as he undertakes the responsibility in service to the Church and the nation.
