Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has issued a stern warning to members defecting from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), urging them to exit without resorting to blackmail or political mischief.
The governor made this known while receiving the newly elected state executives of the PDP, led by State Chairman Hamza Bello Madagali, during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Yola.
The newly inaugurated Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Adamawa State, Hamza Bello Madagali, led his team on a formal visit to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The purpose was to officially introduce the new state executives and express appreciation to the governor for his support during the party’s congresses.
Madagali praised Governor Fintiri for the peaceful and transparent conduct of the congresses across the state and commended his open-door leadership style, which he said had ensured inclusivity among party stakeholders.
Governor Fintiri, in his response, stated that the emergence of the new executives was the result of a careful selection process, prioritising individuals with proven leadership experience and a dedication to the party’s ideals.
He used the opportunity to caution party members defecting to other parties to do so respectfully and without attempting to tarnish the image of the PDP.
Governor Fintiri further assured that the upcoming PDP National Convention, scheduled for November in Ibadan, Oyo State, would be free, fair, and transparent, reflecting the party’s democratic values.
