The Adamawa State Government, in collaboration with development organizations, has officially launched an innovative education policy aimed at enhancing the quality and delivery of education in the state.
During the unveiling ceremony, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by his deputy, reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing this policy. This landmark initiative is designed to transform teaching and learning outcomes across the state. The event brought together stakeholders from various sectors at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Yola.
The initiative was developed in partnership with the Centre for Advocacy, Transparency, and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) to address critical gaps in the educational system. At the event, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Garba Pella, emphasized the government’s recognition of education as a cornerstone of development. He highlighted the role of the new policy in creating a safe and conducive environment for quality education.
In his remarks, Abubakar Muazu Sadiq, the Executive Director of CATAI, described the policy as a strategic blueprint for revolutionizing the educational sector. He praised the government for prioritizing transparency and accountability throughout the process.
Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, representing the Governor, pledged unwavering support for the smooth implementation of the policy. She stressed the importance of partnerships and collaboration in achieving the desired outcomes, noting that this policy is a pioneering effort at the subnational level in Nigeria.
The development process of this policy involved months of intensive research and collaboration with various stakeholders, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing education in Adamawa State.
It is expected to serve as a model for other states, setting a standard for innovation and excellence in education governance.
