CHIEF MAURICE VUNOBOLKI 2027: MY PACT IS WITH THE PEOPLE

In the unfolding political landscape of Adamawa State, moments of turbulence often give rise to clarity. Recent developments surrounding my principled resignation have sparked conversations, counterclaims, and spirited debate. I welcome this. Democracy thrives not in silence, but in the marketplace of ideas. Yet beyond the noise, one truth remains constant: my loyalty has never been to power, but to the people.

Politics, at its highest calling, is a covenant of trust; a sacred agreement between leadership and the led. When that trust is threatened by perceived injustice, exclusion, or a departure from collective ideals, silence becomes complicity. My decision, therefore, was not an act of rebellion, but of responsibility. It was a reaffirmation that leadership must always be anchored in fairness, equity, and the genuine aspirations of the people.

Today, I stand before Adamawa people not as a man defined by political labels, but as a servant bound by a higher pact: a pact with the farmer in Ganye, the trader in Mubi, the civil servant in Yola, the youth in Michika, and the resilient women across our communities. This is the foundation of my vision for 2027.

With my Strategic Agenda for a more greater Adamawa. My commitment is not rhetorical; it is structured, deliberate, and people-driven. At the heart of this commitment lies a Nine-Point Strategic Agenda designed to reposition Adamawa State as a model of inclusive growth and sustainable development.
1. Rural–Urban Connectivity and Infrastructure Development: Development must not be selective. Roads, bridges, and digital infrastructure will connect our rural communities to urban opportunities, unlocking commerce, reducing isolation, and fostering unity across the state.
2. Comprehensive Agricultural and Agro-Industrial Transformation: Adamawa’s strength lies in its land. We will transition from subsistence farming to a modern agro-industrial economy — empowering farmers with technology, financing, and market access, while creating value chains that drive exports and job creation.
3. Three-Tier Healthcare System Upgrade and Sustainability: Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. From primary health centers to tertiary institutions, we will ensure accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare backed by sustainable funding and professional excellence.
4. Future-Ready Education and Sustainability of Free Quality Education: Education must prepare our children not just for today, but for tomorrow. We will strengthen free quality education, integrate digital learning, and equip our youth with skills relevant to a rapidly evolving global economy.
5. Comprehensive Youth and Women Empowerment Initiative; The future belongs to our youth, and the strength of our society rests on our women. Through targeted empowerment programs, entrepreneurship support, and inclusive policies, we will unlock their full potential.
6. Urban and Rural Accessibility to Portable Water and Sanitation: Clean water and sanitation are fundamental to dignity and health. We will prioritize sustainable water systems and sanitation infrastructure across both urban and rural communities.
7. Human Capital Building, Enhanced Welfare and Social Protection for Civil Servants: A motivated workforce is the engine of governance. We will invest in training, ensure timely remuneration, and introduce robust social protection systems that guarantee dignity for our civil servants.
8. Distributable Renewable Energy Generation: Energy is the backbone of development. By embracing renewable energy solutions, we will provide reliable, decentralized power that supports homes, businesses, and industries across the state.
9. Community Security, Safety, Stability, and Peacebuilding Framework: No society can thrive without peace. We will adopt a community-driven security approach that fosters trust, strengthens local intelligence, and promotes lasting peace and stability.
But Beyond Politics: A Movement of Purpose is hatched.
This is not merely a political ambition; it is a movement of purpose. The events of recent days have only reinforced a deeper conviction — that the people of Adamawa deserve leadership that listens, includes, and delivers.
To those who agree, and even to those who disagree, I extend a hand of engagement. Our diversity of opinions is not a weakness; it is our democratic strength. But as we debate, let us not lose sight of the ultimate goal: a better Adamawa for all, building on the gains of Governor Fintiri led government.

As 2027 approaches, the question before us is not about personalities or party lines. It is about direction, values, and the future we choose to build together.

One thing is clear;
My loyalty is unwavering.
My pact is with the people.
