BORNO HEALTHCARE DELIVERY:NEPWHAN urges media to amplify community-identified health challenges

Media practitioners have been urged to amplify reportage on community-identified health challenges in communities, especially conflict-affected locations in Borno State.

This was disclosed during a media roundtable discussion held in Maiduguri under the GC7 N-THRIP project.

The meeting, organised by the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN), brought together stakeholders, implementing partners, government representatives, and media practitioners to discuss how verified Community-Led Monitoring findings can support public awareness and accountability.

It also highlighted challenges of overcrowding, delayed services, infrastructure challenges, drug and HIV-prevention commodity shortages, environmental sanitation concerns, and laboratory power challenges, among others, across some health facilities in the state.

The NEPWHAN Borno State Coordinator Maina Shettima advocated for community monitoring and follow-up on actions to address these disturbing challenges.
