Renowned philanthropist and community leader, Chief Dr. Williams Kamale (Tìkulo Bachama), Chief Executive Officer of Livak Hotels, has empowered more than 200 farming families across Numan and Lamurde Local Government Areas with farm inputs and cash support.
The intervention, delivered on Friday, August 14, 2026, comes at a critical point in the farming season, offering timely relief to smallholder farmers struggling to access fertilizer and other essential agricultural inputs.
Representing Chief Kamale at the distribution, Mrs. Esther Williams said the initiative was driven by the need to strengthen household food production and ensure vulnerable farming families have the resources to cultivate their farms and improve their livelihoods.
She described the intervention as part of Chief Kamale’s broader commitment to community development, noting that his philanthropic activities extend beyond agriculture to include educational scholarships, humanitarian support and other community-focused programmes.
Mrs. Williams disclosed that more empowerment initiatives are in the pipeline, with particular focus on girl-child education, human capital development and sustainable community empowerment.
For the beneficiaries, the gesture could not have come at a better time.
Speaking on behalf of farmers in Numan, Hon. Daniel Madika expressed appreciation to Chief Kamale, describing the intervention as a major boost to farmers at a crucial stage of the cropping season.
He called on other privileged individuals to emulate the gesture by investing in agriculture and supporting vulnerable families within their communities.
In Lamurde, Hon. Kennedy Simon, who spoke on behalf of beneficiaries, urged recipients to put the inputs to their intended use, particularly the fertilizer, to maximize farm productivity and strengthen household food security.
He cautioned beneficiaries against selling or diverting the inputs, stressing that the materials were provided to increase production and improve livelihoods.
The first phase of the empowerment programme has reached over 200 farming families, giving farmers not just agricultural inputs, but renewed confidence to cultivate their farms and look forward to a better harvest.
