Adamawa State is strengthening its international investment profile as the state participates in the Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference (NiDEC) 2026 Conference in Toronto, Canada, with a delegation focused on showcasing the state’s growing opportunities to global investors.
Representing Adamawa State at the conference are the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Investment Promotion Agency (ADIPA), Alhaji Halilu Hammawa Malabu, and the State SABER Focal Person, Dr. Bello Abubakar Song.
Their participation provides an opportunity to present Adamawa as an emerging investment destination, highlighting the state’s economic potential, ongoing business-enabling reforms and efforts to create a more attractive environment for private-sector investment.
Through ADIPA, the state has identified agribusiness, livestock, renewable energy, solid minerals and industrial development as priority investment sectors.
Adamawa’s investment proposition is further supported by reforms under the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER), covering areas such as land administration, investment promotion, public-private partnerships, transparency of government fees, export certification and the resolution of commercial disputes.
The state is also positioning itself to make the process of investing easier through measures including concessionary land arrangements, long-term leases for industrial development, PPP opportunities, faster construction permits and property registration, as well as a one-stop investment promotion centre.
With these reforms and initiatives, Adamawa is gradually moving beyond being viewed only for its agricultural and natural-resource potential to presenting itself as a competitive investment destination in Nigeria’s North-East.
The participation aligns with the spirit of the conference theme, “Invest Nigeria; Thrive Abroad,” as Adamawa seeks to leverage international partnerships while positioning local opportunities for global investment.
