Etsu Nupe Commends Faith & Freedom Africa for Promoting Interreligious Peace and Religious Freedom

His Royal Highness, Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has commended Faith & Freedom Africa (FFA) for its efforts in promoting interreligious peace, freedom of religion or belief, and unity in Nigeria.

The traditional ruler gave the commendation when the leadership of Faith & Freedom Africa paid an advocacy visit to him as part of its engagement with key stakeholders in promoting peace, dialogue, and human rights.

The Etsu Nupe acknowledged the work of the organisation, describing the promotion of religious freedom and peaceful coexistence as a special calling. He noted that efforts aimed at building understanding among people of different faiths are important for the stability and unity of the nation.

He also appreciated the Country Representative of Faith & Freedom Africa, Mr Felix Samari, for leading the advocacy visit and for the organisation’s commitment to advancing conversations around interfaith harmony and social cohesion.

Speaking during the visit, the Country Representative of Faith & Freedom Africa, Mr Felix Samari, expressed appreciation to His Royal Highness and the Chairman of the National Mosque, Abuja, for their fatherly roles and continued support towards promoting interfaith relations and freedom of religion in Nigeria.

Mr Samari explained that the advocacy visit was part of the organisation’s efforts to engage and build relationships with traditional and religious leaders, recognising their critical roles in shaping society and promoting peace.

He added that Faith & Freedom Africa seeks the continued guidance, wisdom, and support of respected leaders in its mission to promote peace, human rights, and peaceful coexistence across Nigeria.
